Steven Shelley

Born and raised in Pensacola. He attended Catholic and Washington high schools. After high school, he attended Pensacola Junior College, earning his Associates of Arts degree in 1991. In 1994 he earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in education from the University of West Florida. Steven spent ten years at Montessori School of Pensacola, assisting in the creation of its middle school as head teacher. During his tenure at Montessori he received his secondary 12-15 credentials from the American Montessori Society. In addition, Steven spent twenty years in the United States Naval Reserve, retiring in 2006.

Although Steven has been working in carpentry, construction, and renovation for the last twenty years, he has been doing it exclusively since 2004. In 2008, Steven partnered with long time friend and associate, Taylor Longsworth, to start East Hill Building and Design with the idea of providing quality, hands-on craftsmanship at a reasonable cost. Steven has been on the board of the East Hill Neighborhood Association since 2008 and has served as President for 4 years.  He has also served on the City of Pensacola Zoning Board of Adjustment since 2016.

Steven has lived in East Hill as a resident since 1965. He has been happily married twice, and is currently enjoying life as a bachelor with his two beautiful cats, Simba and Nero.

Taylor Longsworth

State Certified General Contractor and is licensed to work in the City of Pensacola as well as Escambia and Santa Rosa counties.  He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and Bachelors degree in Construction Management from the University of West Florida.
Taylor was born and raised in Northwest Florida. After receiving his Bachelors degree from UWF in 1996, Taylor moved to Smithville, Tennessee where he apprenticed as a fine wood worker / cabinet builder for the next two years. Within the first year Taylor became the principle builder for Middle Tennessee Cabinets, building for some of the area's premiere homes. During that time, he also studied permaculture with The Designers at Sun Valley (an architectural group with a focus on sustainable construction methods). In 1998, Taylor returned to Pensacola to work for the Center for Fine and Performing Arts at UWF as an adjunct professor, master carpenter for the theater, manager for the theater, and designer/consultant for the building of the new sculpture studio. From 2000 - 2003 Taylor worked for Renaissance Man as the principle fabricator in the metal shop. In addition, Taylor owned his own business renovating homes and building custom furniture/cabinets. In 2005, Taylor started working with Steven Shelley and KMS Investment Properties, continuing with the renovation of homes. In 2008, Taylor and Steven became partners and started East Hill Building and Design with an emphasis on historic renovation. East Hill Building and Design has been a member of the Home Builders Association of West Florida since 2012. Taylor has served on the board since 2014. In 2018, Taylor served as President.
Taylor has been a resident of East Hill since 1998 and is married to Elizabeth, a psychotherapist. They have three beautiful boys, Liam, Zane, and Eamon.
